Alaska Airlines Inflight Meal Options
Alaska Airlines has taken the mystery out of inflight meal service, providing customers with every detail of the service provided on various flights. Now there is no reason to have to ask the flight attendant whether or not you’re being fed. You’ll be prepared.
Flights from 1½ to 2 hours in duration: Morning flights offer a Continental breakfast service in the First Class cabin. An appetizer snack and beverage service are provided on midday and early evening flights. In the main cabin, a beverage service is provided and customers may purchase an Anytime Picnic Pack. Your micro-economics instructor was right, there is no free lunch.
Flights from 2½ to 3 hours in duration: Morning flights offer a hot light breakfast in First Class. Midday flights offer an appetizer and early evening flights offer a light hot meal with a salad. Main Cabin customers are offered a breakfast cookie and a beverage in the a.m. During daylight hours, passengers are provided with a beverage service. On early evening flights, a warm cookie comes with the beverage selection. Mmmm. Anytime Picnic Packs are also available for purchase as well.
Flights from 3 to 5 hours in duration: First Class customers will receive a hot light breakfast in the morning. Midday flights offer a hot sandwich and salad and evening flights offer a light hot meal with a salad. They do like their salads. In the main cabin, you can purchase a Northern Bites fresh meals or the Anytime Picnic Pack to go with your free beverage.
Transcontinental Flights: First Class customers are offered a choice of hot entrées for breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending upon time of day. A light snack is offered shortly before arrival. In the main cabin, you can still purchase a Northern Bites meals, except on redeye flights. Picnic Packs are offered for purchase on all transcontinental flights. You still get drinks.
Mexico Flights: First Class customers are offered a hot light breakfast on morning flights. Midday flights offer a hot sandwich and salad and evening flights offer a choice of a complimentary Northern Bites Cheeseburger or a light hot meal with a salad. In the main cabin, you can still purchase a Northern Bites fresh meal or an Anytime Picnic Pack. Northern Bites fresh meals are available to and from the Mexico destinations of Cancun, La Paz, Los Cabos, Loreto, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Manzanillo, and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo.
What’s a Northern Bite? For breakfast (before 9:30 a.m.), it consists of a Country Breakfast Skillet. Sounds like Denny’s. Daytime Departures offer Deli Sandwich or U.S. Certified Angus Beef® cheeseburger. Nothing for the vego’s, so be prepared.
What’s a Picnic Pack? A smorgasborg of items including Hormel salami, Copper Cowbell cheese, Late July organic crackers, Sunsweet apricots, Nicole’s Divine Crackers, Sunbutter sunflower seed spread, Hero jam, Late July organic chocolate cookies and Emergen—C energy–drink mix
On Transcontinental Flights, you can also purchase a Tuna or Deli Picnic Pack. The Tuna Picnic Pack consists of Bumblebee Sensations lemon pepper tuna (that’s good stuff), Late July organic crackers, Regenie’s pita chips, Tree Top applesauce, Mountain Madness granola, Brown & Haley Almond Roca and Emergen—C energy–drink mix. The Deli Pack contains Robert Rothschild Farms honey mustard dip, Late July organic crackers, Snack Factory pretzel crisps, Hormel Salami, Copper Cowbell cheese spread, Sunsweet apricots, Immaculate Baking Company cookies and Emergen—C energy–drink mix.
According to the email, the airline is really excited about these new meals. There is also talk of Wi-Fi coming aboard for testing in the Spring, so look for that too.
