American Airlines 12 Hour Confirmed Flight Change
American Airlines has extended its window for customers using the airline’s Confirmed Flight Change feature. Customers can now request a confirmed seat on an earlier or later flight on the day they’re scheduled to travel within 12 hours of scheduled departure time of the alternate flight. This is an increase of the previous 3 hour time window.
“We’re pleased to extend the window for Confirmed Flight Change to 12 hours,” said Andrew Watson, American’s Vice President – Customer Technology. “This not only provides our customers greater convenience and flexibility but also gives them peace of mind knowing they won’t have to wait at the airport and take their chances flying standby.”
Seats will be confirmed for $25 if space is available. For more information, visit https://www.aa.com/selfservice.
Confirmed Flight Change is available within the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as flights between those points and international points in the Caribbean. Seats can be confirmed at the airport using a Self-Service Check-In machine, by calling reservations at (800) 433-7300, or at the airport ticket counter. Confirmed Flight Change can be used with most American Airlines tickets, including AAdvantage(R) award travel and tickets purchased through wholesalers or tour operators.
