Blackstone River Valley’s Footsteps in History Weekend
The communities of the Blackstone River Valley are gearing up for the Third Annual Footsteps in History Weekend on October 6-8, 2007. This event includes more than 100 sites, many of which are not open to the public during the rest of the year. The 46 mile Blackstone River Valley lies between Worcester, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island, and “supports a treasure trove of rare and unique homes, early industrial manufacturing operations, places of worship, timeless farms, a carousel, candy shop and a folk theater.” If you’re going to be in the area, it might be worth a look-see. More than 100 events are listed on the program’s website, so you should be able to find SOMETHING of interest.
This year, visitors can enter to win a free gas giveaway valued at $500 by filling out the entry on the back of the Footsteps in History rack card, which gives you yet another reason to visit.
The website lists events for dates throughout the year, so its worth a visit if you going to this area at any time of the year.
