China Southern Airlines Sky Pearl Club Upgrade

China Southern Airlines has made quite a few changes to its frequent flyer program recently, including dropping the mileage threshold as low as 10,000 for a free ticket.

Faster Free Travel: The starting point for award tickets or award upgrade has been lowered to from 20,000 miles to only 10,000.

Bonus Miles for Elite Members: Both Gold and Silver Sky Pearl Club members will now receive special elite bonus mileage on eligible flights. Sky Pearl Gold Card members earn an extra 30% and Sky Pearl Silver Card members earn an extra 15%.

Easier Elite Status: Travelers can now earn Elite status faster by by earning Elite Qualifying Mileages or Elite Qualifying Segments. Mileages and flight segments will be counted to the class you take each flight. To upgrade to Gold Card status, you only need to accumulate 80,000 Elite Qualifying Mileages or 40 Elite Qualifying Segments. For Silver Card membership, you only need to accumulate 40,000 Elite Qualifying Mileages or 20 Elite Qualifying Segments during certain period of time.

Bonus Miles for First and Business Class: Sky Pearl Club members who fly in First or Business Class can expect to earn 2 Elite Qualifying Segment, while one flight in Economy or Premium Economy Class is calculated as one qualifying flown segment.

More Ticket Zones: China Southern Airlines’ flight network covers the globe and award tickets zones are now changed to meet the growing needs of our frequent flyers. Award tickets zones have expanded from six to eight zones making it even easier for free travel.
