Ellen DeGeneres Show Aboard a Delta LA to NY Flight
Ellen DeGeneres recently announced, on her popular daytime talk show, that she, American Express and Delta are “taking the Ellen DeGeneres Show to the sky.” The show will tape today, May 18, 2007 and air on May 22, 2007. Ellen will be hosting her show from onboard a Delta Air Lines flight on a Boeing 767-400 traveling from Los Angeles and New York. From looking out my window, I can tell you the weather isn’t probably going to be ideal for taping anything in the air over the New York area today, so good luck, Ellen!
Ellen will keep the traveling audience entertained from coast to coast in this intimate setting, interacting and interviewing passengers, including actress Allison Janney. During the flight, Ellen and the Delta flight crew will highlight for the onboard audience ways in which American Express offers the ultimate in stress-free travel. How do you get in on that? Are they just regular passengers who happened to book that particular flight? If so, what if they don’t want to be entertained? What if they have to work or want to sleep? Just curious.
According to the press release, “This trip with Ellen marks one of the first initiatives to launch under American Express’ new “Are you a Cardmember?(SM)” communications campaign that showcases the value of American Express membership and its array of
special benefits and services. The campaign encourages prospective Cardmembers to join the community and reinforces for existing Cardmembers the host of benefits and services currently available on American Express Cards including American Express Baggage Insurance Plan(i), access to select private airport lounges(ii) with the Platinum Card(R) and easy travel booking with Membership Rewards(R) points(iii).
Stress-free travel, huh?
