Harmony Pharmacy in Newark Liberty International Airport

Harmony Pharmacy & Health Center just opened its doors in the Newark Liberty International Airport to become the first pharmacy in a major U.S. airport. Pretty hard to believe it took that long, huh? The pharmacy is located in the C terminal, near gate 91. The pharmacy will be open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, which seems like short hours for a store located in an airport where flights are departing from 5:00 am to 11:59 pm daily (or somewhere in that time frame). In addition to dispensing prescriptions, Harmony Pharmacy will provide an on-site nurse practitioner and offer a broad array of preventive assistance and screening services, such as flu shots, vaccinations and examinations to travelers, airport employees and staff. If that nurse can give a depo injection, I’m an instant fan.

The company plans to open additional pharmacies in airports across the country, allowing travelers easy access to health care (and making tons of money while they’re at it).

One of the startup’s slogans is “Check your luggage, then check your cholesterol.” Doctor humor, funny.
