Hertz Rental Car Hourly Rentals in NYC
Hertz Rental Car has introduced hourly rentals at three Manhattan locations. For the new program, Hertz promises no fuel charges, no application fees and no fees for canceling or changing your reservation. As with all Hertz rentals, Hertz Hourly Rentals also include unlimited mileage and 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance. The hourly rentals start at $12 per hour and include a complementary membership in the Club Gold membership program. Numerous vehicle models are available ranging from compact to midsize sedans, midsize SUVs and Hertz’s recently launched Green Collection vehicles, featuring fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly models. Add-on services such as EZ-Pass tag rentals, additional drivers, child seats, and other optional services are also available on Hertz hourly rentals.
Hertz Hourly Rentals can be reserved by calling (888) HERTZ-HR and are available at the following locations:
- 323 West 34th Street (Between 8th and 9th Avenues)
- 126 West 55th Street (Between 6th and 7th Avenues)
- 214 West 95th Street (Between Broadway and Amsterdam)
According to the press release, “Although New York City boasts one of the world’s largest mass transit systems, for small errands, quick daytrips, or even lugging groceries, sometimes a personal vehicle is simply the most convenient way to travel,” said Scott Gaines, Hertz Regional Vice President, New York. “With the unveiling of Hertz Hourly Rentals, we’re offering our customers the most convenient way to access a reliable rental vehicle — with no strings, commitment or additional fees.”
That’s code for “Holy crap, ZipCars are making a lot of money with hourly rentals and we want in on the action.” By the way, I believe ZipCars are a little cheaper than the Hertz hourly rentals.
