NEXUS Program Expands to Montral Trudeau International Airport
Montreal’s Trudeau International just became the third airport in Canada equipped with kiosks to speed the customs and immigration process for frequent travelers between the United States and Canada with the NEXUS Trusted Traveler Program. The NEXUS program was developed to expedite border crossing for citizens of the U.S. and Canada who are members. In the next few months, enrollment centers in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Halifax will
open in anticipation of NEXUS kiosks expanding to those airports.
There are dedicated NEXUS lanes currently in operation at eleven land border-crossing locations, three air facilities and many marine reporting locations in the Seattle and Great Lakes regions. The NEXUS card will also be acceptable when the WHTI requirement is extended to land and sea travel next year. The requirement calls for a passport or other acceptable, secure travel document denoting identity and citizenship for entry or re-entry into the United States.
An online application is expected to be available to support NEXUS this summer.
