Omni Chicago Cross-Town Cocktail Shake-Off in Chicago
Baseball AND Cocktails. There is pretty much no better way to get my attention. I guess if you threw Jack Johnson in the mix, that would be the only way to make it even better. Okay, that’s off the subject – no Jack Johnson here. Not that I’m aware of, anyway. Too bad. But here’s the deal:
The Omni Chicago Hotel is having a Cross-Town Shake-Off in honor of the Cross-Town rivalry between the Cubs and the White Sox. Starting today, guests visiting the Omni Chicago and 676 Restaurant and Bar can choose a drink based on their baseball loyalty. Weird. I buy drinks based on my drink loyalty. Anyway, on offer are the Northside ‘Rita and the Southside Mojito.
For each cocktail purchased during the month of the hometown series, the Omni Chicago Hotel will donate $1 to the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago. In addition, at the end of the challenge, the Omni Chicago will match the total dollar amount made by the most popular cocktail. That’s cool. Drinking for a cause.
I am a long-time Atlanta Braves fan and I’ve been to both parks in Chicago. I really thought I would prefer Wrigley, since it’s historic and all and the Cubbies are in the NL. But, honestly, the White Sox games I went to were the BEST live major league baseball games I’ve ever been to in my life. Granted, the fact that one of them was Game 2 of the World Series doesn’t hurt the fun ranking.
But you just can’t loose if you get to visit Chi-Town, probably my favorite city in the United States AND get a margarita or mojito, probably two of my favorite drinks in the United States.
