Omni Hotels “Game” and “Glam” Packages
I REALLY like Omni Hotels new “Game” and “Glam” packages, except for the obviously sexist nature of the advertising of the packages. Omni Hotels isnow offering “Get Your Glam On” and “Get Your Game On” hotel packages tailored to women and men. I’m not sure how I feel about the Omni using a phrase like “Get Your Game On,” but I’ll let it pass. Beginning this month and running through the end of 2007, guests can book the “Game” and “Glam” packages at Omni properties across North America. Both packages include deluxe guest room accommodations, a complimentary Sensation Bar upon arrival and an advance concierge call to further personalize the package.
According to the press release, “We wanted to design an experience for women and men that offered the perfect girlfriend getaway or the proverbial mancation, something that entertained, yet provided both groups the opportunity to create a weekend
of relaxation and memories,” said Caryn Kboudi, vice president of corporate communications at Omni Hotels. “Also, guests should have some additional fun with the customized men’s or women’s Sensation Bars designed to indulge the senses.”
What do the boys get? A sports focused DVD, a rock n’ roll CD, the Art of Shaving travel kit and a local micro-brewed beer with gourmet chips. An advance call from the concierge enables guys to customize their stay at an additional cost, providing items such as:
- Poker cards, chips, and dice
- Bar with private bartender/mixologist
- Limo ride to local hot spots
- Tickets to a local sporting venue
- Reservations for tee-times at local golf courses
Girls get a “chick-flick” DVD, wine and chocolates, lip masque and glosses and a Girlfriends’ Tarot Card Kit. The “Get Your Glam On” package also offers an advance concierge call to arrange additional services such as:
- In-room hair/makeup team for styling before hitting the town
- Limo ride to local hot spots
- Shopping recommendations
- Spa treatments
The packages are available for select weekends from $205 to $385 per night. An adjoining guest room is available upon request for either package but is not included in the package rate.
As a girl who likes poker okay and LOVES baseball, I’m not a big fan of the gender specific marketing of the plans. I would like the wine and chocolates, as well as tickets to the game. Can’t a girl have the best of both worlds?
