Philips Xenium NRG AAA Cell Phone
Philips Electronics, working with Energizer, is producing a cellular phone that uses AAA batteries as a back up. Once the regular battery runs low, the phone will automatically switch over to the back up power source. I can’t imagine that the AAA would last very long once it is the sole power, but who knows. The company claims it will buy you three extra hours of talk time, which seems unbelievable. My RAZR doesn’t last that long fully charged (but my RAZR is a piece of junk).
You don’t necessarily have to use Energizer products to power the phone, any ole’ AAA battery will work.
What’s even cooler – if you use a rechargeable AAA battery, the phone will recharge both the cell phone battery AND the AAA battery when plugged in. Just be sure to get rechargeable batteries and you don’t have to worry about replacing the AAA battery frequently. Pretty handy when you’re on the road a lot.
