Starwood Hotels aloft Promotion
The fine folks at Starwood Hotels & Resorts are so excited about their new lifestyle brand aloft hotels, they recently announced a fantastic promotion in celebration of the opening of the first aloft hotels. From now until December 31, 2008, Starwood Preferred Guest members can earn a lofty 8 Starpoints for every U.S. dollar spent. That is quadruple the standard earning rate. To get the deal, all you need to do is register and stay at any new aloft hotel worldwide by the end of this year.
Members of the Starwood Preferred Guest program normally earn two points for every dollar spent at any participating Starwood hotel. This promotion will allow SPG members who register for the offer to quadruple their earned Starpoints for aloft stays. Gold and Platinum members will continue to earn one additional bonus point based on their elite status bringing their earning to an incredible nine Starpoints for every U.S. dollar spent.

According to the press release, “aloft brings a new tWistSM in travel to the younger, hipper, tech-savvy guest and will raise the bar in the select-service category, delivering loft-inspired social spaces and guestrooms, enhanced technology services, landscaped outdoor spaces and a lobby with a bar and pool table which transforms from a playful place or quiet space by day to an eclectic, electric social scene at night.”
I like tech stuff and bars.
Rooms feature nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows to create a bright, airy environment. Hopefully those enormous windows are covered by some really great blackout curtains to keep out the early morning sunshine. The rooms boast an “ultra-comfortable signature bed,” large bathrooms with oversized walk-in showers and amenities created by bliss spa. Each room featues complimentary wired and wireless internet access and a one-stop connectivity solution for plugging in multiple electronic gadgetry such as PDAs, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops – which are linked to a 42” flat panel LCD television for optimal sound and viewing. Sweet!
aloft hotels are scheduled to open this year in Chicago O’Hare, IL, Minneapolis, MN, and Philadelphia Airport, PA, Lexington, MA., Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rogers-Bentonville, AR as well as Montreal Airport and Beijing, China.
