The Austin, Texas Steam Train
So you have a little extra time in Austin, Texas and you want to get out of the city and see the hill country. Maybe you’re interested in the Bluebonnet Trail or the Bluebonnet Festival in Burnet. The steam train is a way to get you to the hill country in style.
The Austin Steam Train offers two types of fares – coach and lounge. A coach ticket reserves you a seat in one of the 1920s coach cars. These cars are not climate-controlled but have windows that open and close. I like the windows open anyway. If you’re traveling in the spring or fall, lack of AC shouldn’t be a big deal at all. A lounge ticket reserves you a seat in one of our three streamline lounge cars and includes complimentary snacks and soft drinks. The lounge cars are heated and air-conditioned.
Trip options vary, based on when and where you want to travel.
