United Airlines Premier Line
United Airlines is offering a new suite of services for passengers called the Premier Line. While these might not be a bargain for frequent flyers on United, they offer a great deal for people who fly on the airline infrequently.
For $25 each way, you can enjoy the following services that were previously reserved only for the elite:
- check in at the business class line
- use the elite/first class security line
- board earlier than non-elite coach passengers
Here’s the fine print, in a nutshell:
Premier Line purchases can be made online anytime between booking through check-in, or at an airport kiosk. In order to get in on the early boarding action, you have to print your boarding pass AFTER you purchase your “upgrade.” Benefits apply only to the individual passenger who purchases the Premier Line option, not you and your buddies or your cousin or whatever. The option must be purchased separately for each travel companion or family member who wishes to access Premier Line benefits. Premier Line is available for United-operated flights departing from select airports in the United States. Premier Line purchases are non-refundable except in the case of flight cancellations or involuntary schedule changes.
The Premier Line travel option will be offered from select airports as follows:
o Boston (BOS)
o Chicago (ORD)
o Denver (DEN)
o Los Angeles (LAX)
o Minneapolis (MSP)
o New York LaGuardia (LGA)
o Newark (EWR)
o Orange County (SNA)
o Portland (PDX)
o San Diego (SAN)
o San Francisco (SFO)
o Seattle (SEA)
o Washington Dulles (IAD)
o Washington National (DCA)
Other airports are under consideration and may be added in the future.
