Worse than the Freshman Fifteen – Dinner Edition
Again with the freshman fifteen. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check here.
What’s the best advice I could never follow? Stay off the sauce. and I don’t mean the alfredo or the lemon-butter. I mean the booze. Business people in general, sales people in particular, tend to drink much more alcohol on the road than we do at home. Why is this? For the simple fact that we’re dining out every night and it’s easy to order a couple of glasses of wine or a few beers. Especially if you’re eating at the bar, as many people do.
There is also the handy-dandy hotel bar that tends to be the only socializing most business travelers do outside the normal business hours. That place will suck you in like a black hole. At least if you get out of the hotel and, here’s an idea, WALK to a restaurant, you should get SOME exercise during the walk.
For me, it’s much easier to follow the good breakfast or lunch advice, and then just blow it at dinnertime. But if you go easy on the booze, it should cut out quite a few of those extra calories.
